“La Solitaria” is a large farmhouse that has been restored in a specially beautiful, isolated position about 2 kilometres from the town of Montescudaio. A private country lane leads down the hill to the house which is surrounded by cultivated fields and Mediteranean woods, typical of the river Cecina valley. The house is from 2 to 3 km. distance from the other houses of the farm and 200 metres on foot from the river. In this isolation it is possible to find peace and quiet, to sunbathe in complete privacy or to go for walks, and enjoy the beauty of the wild birds and animals as they settle to drink in the river. It is also easy to get to the beach, only 14 km. away, or visit the other villages on the hills nearby with their antique architecture, little, panoramic squares and their local food and wine speciality products.
The flat is on the first floor and is reached up an indoor, stone staircase. On the ground floor there is a large room with an oven to make pizza, cakes or grilled meat, accompanied by good “Montescudaio” wines which are on sale in the wine cellar of the farm. It is furnished in the typical old Tuscan style with pieces of furniture in wood and wrought iron.
